Collaborative Law is a means of dispute resolution where the parties and their attorneys agree to work together to resolve outstanding issues without involving litigation. North Carolina law specifically recognizes this process as an alternative to litigation for those who do not want to go to court.
Collaborating with the opposing party makes it easier to work with everyone’s schedule and helps expedite decision making that could otherwise be delayed through the courts. Smooth sailing is never guaranteed in a divorce but going with the Collaborative Method can offer peace of mind in knowing that you are choosing an easier route.
While Collaborative Law is a preliminary way to reach a resolution, if after a consult you decide the Collaborative process is not the right fit for you, I am prepared to litigate.
