Manisha Parekh, PH.D

Manisha Parekh is a divorce coach for Horizon Psychological Services in Huntersville NC. As someone who has experienced the stress and high emotions of going through a divorce herself, Dr. Parekh understands well how intense the process of ending a marriage and attempting to build a path towards a different future than the one imagined on the day you said, “I do.” 

When there are complex matters involved, such as issues involving children or financial stability, the anxiety can lead to uncertainty, which can make it difficult to find a clear path forward and make imporant decisions. 

This is where a divorce coach, like Dr. Parekh, can be helpful. As a licenses psychologist of over 15 years, Dr. Parekh has worked in varying roles with families going through a divorce. She has worked as a therapist with adults going through divorce, with children dealing with their parent’s divorce, and as a court- appointed parenting coordinator.  

As a divorce coach, she seeks to help her clients process the difficult, and often times, painful experience of divorce and help them develop achievable goals that can be attanined through the collaborative process in order to help them move towards a brighter future. 

Dr. Parekh earned a doctorate in clinical psycholigy in 2004 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Since that time, she has worked primarily in private practice, offering psychotherapeutic services as well as psychological evaluation services. 

She has worked as a court- appointed therapist an clinical evaluator in family court cases since 2010, and became a parenting coordinator in 2016.  Her focus in working with divorce is to help individuals through the grieving process; to help them to verbalize hope and goals for the future; and to help them to develop communication and coping skills to move towards those goals and beyond.
