I have practiced family law since 2005 and am certified as a family law specialist by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.

Over the course of my practice, I have tried countless cases.  What I have come to realize, however, is that the one consistent result in litigation is loss.  Regardless of the verdict, litigants spend large sums of money they could have saved or used toward other expenses, and they devote time, energy, and emotions in their efforts to best the other party instead of devoting their time, energy, and emotions to healing or moving on with life.  Litigants embroil themselves in a conflict-ridden adversarial process that harms them.  Regardless of the verdict, litigants lose.

I am devoted to making the divorce process less adversarial, less expensive, less painful, and more peaceful through use of the collaborative divorce process.  In addition to my collaborative law practice, I am a Certified Family Financial Mediator.
